The 18-hole course at the Sunset Country Club features 6,450 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. The course rating is 71.0 and it has a slope rating of 122 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Eddie Riccoboni and John LaFoy, the Sunset golf course opened in 1922. Jeff Ruth is the Head Golf Professional.
Course improvements are underway! The sod project will add nearly 20,000 sq. feet of putting surface and repair tees on 5,6,9,and18.Sod is also being laid in various areas around the course.Work is progressing well, although rain here and at the sod farm may alter the schedule somewhat, overall lenght of the project wont be affected that much. Please continue to do your part by skipping holes being worked on. We will get the affected areas back in play as soon as possible. Generally speaking, it will take about 3 weeks or so to get the tees ready for play, weather of course may affect this.Greens will need to be rolled, topdressed, fertilized etc., and will overtime match up and offer many more hole locations. Please treat all new areas as ground under repair and do not chip from new sod.
